Guy Maestri: Echoes of Olley

Join us to hear Guy in conversation with Gallery Director Susi Muddiman OAM about his residency, his practice and this exhibition.

During a residency in Tweed Regional Gallery's Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio, artist Guy Maestri commenced a body of work inspired by objects in Margaret Olley's home studio re-creation. An exhibition of this work, titled 'Echo' will be open at the Gallery from 17 March 2017.
 

 

 
Guy Maestri is a contemporary artist with a close connection to the Northern Rivers. In 2009 he won the Archibald Prize for a portrait of Australian singer and musician Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. He has also been a finalist in the 2007 and 2008 Dobell Drawing Prize and the 2016 Archibald Prize.
 

 

 
This month's talk is a collaborative event between Contemporary Art Space and Education Inc. the Byron School of Art and the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre.

Come and enjoy the talk, pictures and discussions over a glass of something from the bar or a delicious plate of food from the Courthouse kitchens.
