c.a.s.e. membership policy

c.a.s.e inc has been growing in size and scope over the last few years and finds itself in the happy position of needing to revise its membership policy due to increased requests from local artists to become involved.

Following discussion by the c.a.s.e. committee, it was decided the best way to be inclusive and dynamic as a group and still stay manageable as a working committee, was to create two tiers of membership:

1.            active membership                      (max 12 people)

2.            support team membership          (unlimited number)

1.  c.a.s.e. active membership to make up the c.a.s.e. committee

Active members are voted in annually at the AGM, a maximum of 12 people.

Active membership consists of

5 x executive members with voting rights:

  •  president

  •  vice president

  •  secretary

  •  treasurer

  •  public officer

2 - 7 ordinary members with voting rights:

  • between 2 & 7 more people who actively participate in c.a.s.e. meetings and initiatives            (see responsibilities/roles/advantages below)

c.a.s.e. active member responsibilities

  • to uphold the principles of c.a.s.e inc as outlined in the charter

  • to have a passion for fostering creativity and opportunities in the local arts community

  • to be active in achieving the aims of the group in line with the c.a.s.e. mission

  • to commit to attend c.a.s.e. meetings*

  • to be willing to use email to participate in group discussion & decision making

  • to have the ability to access and use IT facilities such as google drive

  • to be able to work harmoniously within a team

  • to pay $2 membership annually at AGM

* Life overtakes us all and c.a.s.e. inc. understands members may not be able to attend every meeting. However, if more than two consecutive meetings are missed the member may be requested by the active committee to step aside to the c.a.s.e. support team. This will allow a support team member with more availability to join the active membership at that time, either temporarily or permanently, depending on the situation. When the retiring c.a.s.e member is able to commit more time to c.a.s.e. again, they can reapply to join the active membership either straight away or when there is a place, depending on what was arranged.
