c.a.s.e. and the Byron School of Art are delighted to welcome artist designer maker
Christina Waterson
Going Public: Art in the Public Realm
The sculptural surfaces Christina Waterson creates reflect changes in light and shadow, and reveal the balance of forces within the materials she employs. Her smallest works have graced models at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, while her largest are scaled to the city and span over four storeys; reframing the surrounding environment and our own spatial perception. Trained as an architect, Christina also studied art and design and practiced across these fields before establishing her own studio in 2007. She is a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellow and Australian Council Grant Recipient. Her experience includes an array of creative roles for organizations such as Urban Art Projects, Howwecreate and Cox Rayner Architects, having worked extensively as an Exhibition Designer for The Queensland Art Gallery (QAGGOMA) and The Museum of Brisbane (MOB).
Come and enjoy the talk, pictures and discussions over a glass of something from the bar or a delicious plate of food from the Courthouse kitchens.
There is no charge for the talk.
