James Guppy - Tuesday 19th February 2024 6pm for 6.30pm start

contemporary art space & education (c.a.s.e. inc) are delighted to welcome:

James Guppy

'My work roams from politics, to landscape, to the fantastic so I'm eager to take the opportunity to "Show and Tell" all this with the friends and community where I live and work.'

James Guppy paints gently subversive interpretations of love, sex and death with side notes on futility and the nature of beauty.

He left England for Australia in 1982 settling in the hills behind Mullumbimby where he raised a family. Byron Shire has been his home for most of the time since then as he created a career as a fine artist. Since 1989 he has exhibited across Australia and in the USA.

For the last ten years he has been a director and teacher at the Byron School of Art
